About Us
Our preschool is very much a part of the community with strong links to the local Primary schools, we are situated in Alston Moor Federation and have regular transition sessions with them.
We love to visit and explore local environments, such as; the local park, Tyne Willows playing field and the woodland area. The children especially love going to feed the ducks and horses.
We welcome members of the community into our preschool to share their individual interests and jobs. We have visits from our local fire service, ambulance team and vet. Jane from the library visits us regularly to do sing a long sessions and brings us library books.
We enjoy our annual visit from Tian to celebrate Chinese New Year, we like tasting different foods and learning about different cultures.
We also invite parents to join us to celebrate Easter and Christmas with us at Grisedale Croft Care home for an Easter egg hunt and carol singing.

The care is second to non, the staff are all so friendly and accommodating. They are constantly asking what your child’s interests and needs are so they can tailor their care and enhance their experience.
There is a great mix of indoor and outdoor activities so they never get bored and you are kept in the loop with everything they do on their online journal.

Can’t speak highly enough of the team at Alston pre school. From week one, although our daughter started as one of youngest attending we could see her development coming on leaps and bounds thanks to the enthusiasm and professionalism from the staff. Our daughter Joni is full of excitement telling us about her day and can’t wait to get back there each morning. Sharon, Sophie and Amie are all amazing preschool leaders. They are all very passionate about their job in taking care of the children. They always have fantastic tasks planned for the children, keeping them well educated. Children look forward to their next day at preschool.
My daughter started Pre-school very nervous, after a few weeks with amazing staff she absolutely loves it! She comes home singing songs and showing me all the activities she has been up to. Knowing she is going to a Pre-school that genuinely care for every child’s needs is the best feeling as a parent, I couldn’t recommend it enough.
